1. How to opt in

You may opt in to receive AIPN Voter Education Alerts by submitting our SMS opt-in form, where you provide your name, mobile phone number, and ZIP code, and explicitly check a box confirming your consent. You may also opt in at in-person events by signing a written consent form.

By opting in, you authorize AIPN to send you recurring autodialed or prerecorded marketing, informational, and action-alert text messages at the mobile number you provided. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or donation.

2. Message frequency

Message frequency varies and is driven by your interaction with the program, the pace of legislative activity, election cycles, and breaking news. Some weeks you may receive several messages; other weeks you may receive none. If you reply to our messages or engage with action alerts, you may receive follow-up messages in response. You can stop messages at any time by replying STOP (see Section 4).

3. Costs

Message and data rates may apply. AIPN does not charge for messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you according to your plan (for example, for SMS or data usage). Contact your carrier for details about your specific plan.

4. How to opt out (STOP)

You can cancel the SMS program at any time. Text the single keyword STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send the STOP keyword, we will send you a final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that, you will no longer receive messages from AIPN. You can also text us the words END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to opt out. If you want to rejoin, sign up again as described in Section 1.

5. How to get help (HELP)

If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, reply with the keyword HELP to any message, and we will respond with instructions on how to use our service and how to unsubscribe. You can also email us at info@theaipn.org.

6. Supported carriers & carrier disclaimer

Our messaging program works with major U.S. carriers, including (but not limited to) AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Boost Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Metro by T-Mobile, Cricket, Google Voice, and most MVNOs.

Carrier disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Messages are delivered on a best-effort basis; AIPN and participating carriers do not guarantee the delivery, timeliness, or content of any message.

7. Privacy

Information collected through our SMS program is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

No sharing for marketing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information listed in our Privacy Policy exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Information sharing to subcontractors in support of these services, such as our SMS platform provider, is permitted only for purposes of operating and delivering the program.

8. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to participate in this program. By opting in, you represent that you are the account holder for the mobile number provided, or that you have permission from the account holder to enroll that number. You are responsible for any charges your carrier may impose. If your mobile number changes, please update your subscription or opt out and re-enroll, so that previous subscribers do not receive messages intended for you.

9. Changes to these SMS Terms

We may modify or cancel the program, or these SMS Terms, at any time. We will post the updated terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued participation after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
